USING DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN IRRIGATION MANAGEMENT

OBJECTIVE

A large portion of the available water resources is used for irrigation purposes. Improving irrigation management is essential in protecting the environment, combating climate change and ensuring food security. In this workshop, the use of both theoretical and practical approaches for adapting digital irrigation management approaches to large and individual irrigation systems will be discussed. Automation systems, sensors, remote sensing systems, meteorological data systems, software, and models that can be used in irrigation management will be the main topics of the workshop.

SCOPE OF THE WORKSHOP

Academics, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers are invited to present papers in this workshop on ‘Use of Digital Technologies in Irrigation Management’. Applications from different disciplines, such as agriculture, electronics and software, are expected. The workshop will cover all aspects of irrigation automation, remote sensing, soil-plant-atmosphere sensors, models, software and artificial intelligence applications to improve irrigation management.

TOPICS AND SUB-TOPICS

The main topic of the International Workshop is “Using Digital Technologies in Irrigation Management “. Sub-topics include the following issues:

  1. Digital irrigation automation systems
  2. Soil, plant and atmosphere sensors for irrigation management
  3. Remote sensing for monitoring and management of irrigated agriculture
  4. Artificial intelligence and modelling in agricultural water management,
  5. Irrigation management software
