HE FUTURE OF AGRO PV IN IRRIGATED AGRICULTURE

BACKGROUND

Agrivoltaic (AgroPV) systems combine agriculture and photovoltaic energy production on the same land, offering a sustainable solution to growing global challenges. By shading crops, these systems can reduce water evaporation, enhancing irrigation efficiency while generating renewable energy. AgroPV contributes to the “water-food-energy” nexus by optimizing land use, supporting agricultural production, improving water efficiency and contributing to clean energy goals.
